Dennis sings, Cruising Down the River.
It’s time for Dennis Day’s high school reunion, and he looks over his yearbook with Mildred. He isn’t looking forward to attending, because he feels that he’s a failure. There’s a bright spot for Dennis when an old classmate wants to see him. Maybe its about a job? After some joking around and getting caught up, the old friend does have a proposition for Dennis. It sounds like it could be a shady deal, when Dennis is to pose as someone involved in an insurance claim. When Mildred hears what Dennis is to do, he tries to back out, but his friend is holding him to making that court appearance.
Intermission time: Dennis sings, Streets of Larado.
Dennis goes to Mr Anderson for advice. The plan is for Dennis to make up a story in the courtroom that will make it clear that he isn’t the man involved in the insurance deal. Dennis lays on the wacky story, but the lawyer doing the questioning is also on the payrole of the shady insurance man. In the end Dennis does a good enough job, and the right thing is done. But does it pay off for Dennis? His crazy story may have ruined his chances for a legitimate insurance claim.
After the closing commercial, Dennis sings, Careless hands.
