James Stewart as, the Six Shooter. Based on the fictional life of Britt Ponset, the Texas plainsman who drifted through the West.
On the way into town, Britt rides up on an old prospector who is having trouble with his burro. It’s Hiram, an old friend of Britt’s and the two get caught up on small talk. Topics that include the 4th of July, a trip to see show girls, and the latest success that Hiram has just been ringing to Clay City. In the past, Hiram has had trouble with the Assayer’s office. Are they just being prejudiced against him, or is there something to his complaints?
When Britt tries to get some rest in town, Hiram is back with disturbing news. Will Britt be able to calm the troubled waters? Conflict between Hiram and the Assayer is the least of the problem when robbers show up.
Commercial time. A public service announcement to encourage folks to be morally strong, by doing their patriotic duty, and going to church.
