A telephone call from Abbner comes in, while he’s making grocery deliveries. He has news that grandpap figured out it’s Lum in the photo that Sarge has. When she enters, he has to cover his tracks as to who that was on the phone dcall. She confesses that the picture she got from the matrimonial bureau has really done something for her. Cedric breaks up the tension when he enters with word on his test at school. Is he cheating? He shares some of his knowledge of historical figures.
Grandpap enters as Miss Hartford takes Cedridc to the feedroom for some schooling. Can Lum discourage the old gent from showing his old photos of Lunm to the sarge? Will he spill the beans that she has an old photo of Lum? Grandpap just came from the school house, What might Miss Emiline have to say on this matter?
Meanwhile in the feedroom, Cedric tells Sarge that it means a lot to him to be in the school play. With all the girls he wants to impress, might he tell Miss Hartfrd how it feels to be in love? He tells some of the confusing relationship between his gal Clara Belle and Gomer Bates. Sarge can tell she’s asking the wrong guy on love advice. Instead, she begins to open up about the man she is falling in love with in the picture. Maybe she’ll get farther if she takes the picture over to Miss Emaline for some feminine advice?
