landslides keep washing out the road, but this time it has washed away Jack Armstrong’s car, complete with his ring and charts to the hidden uranium. At least that means the Pirates are now also on foot and will have trouble catching our heroes. Is there any chance Jack, Billy, and Betty might recover the ring?
Approaching the cliff, Jack notices there are plenty of hand holes, and the cliff face is not completely vertical. Billy has spotted the car, but it looks queer! Do you think the Pirates might also guess the reason Jack is trying to reach his car? There hasn’t been any sign of Blackbeard or Cheppetto since being scared away by the latest landslide. Or maybe they’ve come face to face with the Agrito tribesmen?
Michelle, one of Blackbeard’s henchmen has been a friend of the jack for a while now, ever cents being rescued by a shark. When Jack returns, he sees Michelle and uncle Jim talking. Michelle is sent as a messenger, to ask uncle Jim to have the aGritos let the pirates go. Michelle also informs our heroes that Blackbeard has been sent down the cliff, to look into the automobiles. Is the big, clumsy pirate to inept to climb down the cliff. Uncle Jim reminds Betty that he is a competent sailor, and can handle climbing rigging very well.
While uncle Jim and Betty stayed behind, Jack, Billy, and Michelle head down the cliff in a race to get to the cars first.
