On horseback, and in search of sergeant Romero and his men, Jack and his friends need the soldiers to stop a possible uprising. The soldiers are said to be somewhere in the cave of the mummies. The kids comment on the head hunters that surround them in the jungle, and the rival Agrito tribesmen
Betty remarks on a small group of natives, but her mistake proves to be mummies that have been there, probably for years. Going inside the cave, Jack tries to calm Betty as mummies soon surround our heros on their trip to find the soldiers.
A lone soldier tells them that Sergeant Romero has gone to a shooting range, but is there strange things happening outside? The kids coment on the headhunter activity. Unease with the Agritos. Is their escape route being closed off? The soldier doesn’t offer much encouragement as war whoops kick up. It looks like our heroes will be seeing the headhunters first hand, very soon.
