As the McGee’s talk about the latest trend for women to wear slacks, Teeny pops in,. She heard from her dad that Fibber will play outside with her. Why would he do that? Fibber brags about his sharpshooting skills in the last war. Billy Mills plays some traveling music.
Up in the attic, Molly reads old news clippings, which turns into a plug to buy bonds and both support the war, and prevent financial collapse afterward. A letter is found to tell about money hidden in an old horse hair sofa. Can Fibber locate the sofa, and the $20k inside it? Mayor Latrivia arrives to hear about the potential windfall, from grand old uncle Jeff. Fibber gets confused over a dog he thinks the mayor has.
As the search continues, we learn that Fibber once tossed out a bunch of worthless pictures made by some unknowns named Currier and Ivies. Marlowe Wilcox enters to spin the situation into a sponsor message.

Fibber calculates his anticipated income taxes on $20k when Wallace Wimple pops in. He loves to wax poetic on cold, snowy days, and has one he wrote to his dear wife. He also wrote a limerick for her, but somehow never finished it. Molly finally finds the note she wrote, and the money is soon found. Too bad that uncle Jeff was from Richmond, Virginia… Confederate money just isn’t worth a lot.
