Out on the water, Fibber and Mayor Latrivia shiver in their boat as they quack their duck calls and watch the skies for the birds in flight. Back at 79 Wistful Vista, the Old Timer keeps Molly company, and helps to greet Fibber on his return. How was the hunting? Billy Mills plays a jumping tune.
In private Fibber complains to Molly about his horrible experience going hunting with the mayor. Abigail Uppington enters to interrupt the tirade, and shares her ideas about Fibber’s skills as an outdoorsman. Fibber is forced to admit that though he got only one duck, the mayor got 9. Harlow Wilcox pops in to put the topical spin onto the sponsor product.
Teeny arrives to talk to Fibber about the color of jelly beans, and the changing leaves in the Fall. The Kingsmen sing, It’s Clabbering Up for Rain.
Still on his rant, Fibber shares more gripes with the mayor, as Wallace Wimple arrives. He tells about the food his big old wife, Sweetie ‘Face feeds to him. He has also been exercising to get built up. Fibber anticipates savoring his duck at dinner, but first there’s one more interruption, and the truth about his sole duck.
