As Rochester waits for his boss to return from vacation, he talks to himself as he cleans the house, answers the phone, the door, and wonders why all the neighbors are moving out today. Jack enters, and expects the cast to visit for a rehearsal. Dennis is first to arrive, and give Jack grief, making Jack’s weeks of relaxation turn to frustration in a matter of moments. Dennis sings.
Mary arrives to tell about her trip to Las Vegas, the slot machines, and shrine to a gambling loss that Jack had there. Dennis tries to lure her in to asking him about his vacation to Palm Springs. So far, he has no takers, but you know the gang won’t hold out forever. Don arrives with a special sponsor message, sung by the aleged wives of the Sportsmen. I don’t know who they really are, but they do a really great job at vocalizing.
Bob Crosby pops in, and Jack’s publicity agent thinks he ought to sue the state of Washington. Along the way Jack gets in some words to pitch his season opener for his TV show, featuring Marilyn Monroe.
