As they drive near a cemetary, Ann Williams is a little frightened when Casey has car trouble and has to stop. What is that moving in the shadows among the tombstones? It’s just a homeless woman named
Gertie who lives in the graveyard. Casey and Ann find her a better place to stay.
Gertie’s morbid talk about her coming death is enough to unsettle our heros just a little. She refers to her relative, Roger as being dead already, as we visit with her in the house that Casey takes her to. What is all this crazy talk about? Creepy things are in store as we learn more about the vaudevillian past of Gertie. Changing the pace, we next find Casey and Ann in the Blue Note to tell Ethylbert about their new, lonely friend. They have a surprise for Gertie, and call on her the next day to spring it.
Casey is surprised instead to find Gertie gone, and her locked up, tidy house is a mess. Who would want to do this to poor old Gertie? Casey smells a homacide investigation, but there’s no corpse to be found. Is Casey being too hasty? Listen in for the clues, and see if you can put the pieces of this puzzle together before Casey does.
A trap is developed to catch the criminal, but if you are still confused on the matter, just stay tuned, enjoy the ride, and Casey explains it all before its all over.
