A psychologist has a theory, and a book he wants to propose to his publisher. Can his theory be proved that a suicidal person can be shifted to committing murder? Not only is it dismissed as a silly idea, but who would actually buy such a book?
Leaving the publisher, the doctor goes to a bridge, known for attracting suicidal people. He talks a young lady off the bridge, and decides to use her as his test case. Will she go through with his suggestion to kill somebody for him? She has nothing to lose. He offers a sizable amount of money to help her mother. Is she insane? Does her drive to help others over ride her own self preservation?
After hearing her own tale of woe, and being jilted, the doctor strikes a deal. The murder is staged. Will the publisher be moved to print the book? Will he turn the doctor in as a crazy man who isn’t willing to report the crime to the police, or be willing to stop it?
Skeletons are dragged out of closets, and we learn why the doctor never liked his publisher, and why he is the chosen target of the homicide in progress. Its too late to stop the murder. Will it be the perfect crime? Fate throws a wrench into the works to ensure justice is done for the doctor.
