Let’s all ride horses into storyland and enjoy. At the bottom of the sea, mermaids wonder over a statue that has come to rest there. The young mermaids love to hear tales from their grandmother, and look forward to the day they can visit the surface themselves, and learn about princes on their own.
From a distance, the mermaids watch the festivities of men, and long to take part. The two worlds come crashing together when there’s a ship wreck, and the mermaids rescue a drowning man. Though the worlds are as incapatible as possible, can there be hope for forbidden love?
Going to ask of the old sea witch, the mermaid is told there can be no going back, and no garantee of success. The old sea witch sets forth her requirements, and choices are made. Will the mermaid be gaining her soul or losing it? Will she be winning true love, or dooming herself? Listen and check out the story to see how things turn out.
