A mouse in the house has Molly in an uproar. For such a tiny thing, it has the power to get Molly to leap to the top of the kitchen table in a single bound. Looking for pest control, Fibber ends up on a phone distraction with Mirt, the phone operator. He and Molly get confused over words. Might Fibber actually say something to make Molly change from her usual come back of, ’Taint funny McGee’? Fibber needs to trap the mouse, but in a non violent way. He has to explain the reason to Teeny as she tells about her role in an upcoming wedding. Billy Mills plays, Yankee Doodle Dandy.
Molly asks about Fibbers elaborate contraption to trap the mouse. The Old Timer is o n hand to tell it the way he hear’d it with a joke about Japs in Alaska. Harlowe Wilcox enters. Will he have a cat to help with the mouse? Nope, but besides the commercial, he gets to see how Molly can leap to the table top.
Mayor Latrivia visits to pitch a scrap rubber drive. Molly quotes some poetry as slogans, but the borrowed verse only serves to fluster the mayor. Why doesn’t he like cabbage, and what does it have to do with anything? The Kingsmen sing, I like a Ballalyka.
Fibber has another elaborate trap in place. Abigail Uppington talks about going shopping for a pair of slacks. It’s the new fashion rage, but one that Fibber isn’t keen on. The trap seems to have worked, and the McGee’s get rid of their critter in a nonviolent way. Wallace Wimple visits to tell Molly about his violent wife Sweetie Face. There’s still time for one more leap to the table though, and Molly isn’t alone.
