In the Jot Em Down store today, Abner tells grandpap how Lum left his sick bed to go to the sociable. Of course, he really wasn’t sick. Grandpap is eager to learn all about Lum and his amazing dance steps. The two marvel at Lum’s performance and competitive spirit.
After the details of the evening come out, Abner tells how Miss Evaline is impressed with Frank Foster over his knowing a president of the railroad company. When Lum enters, he has a hard time convincing Abner, but claims his presence at the dance was only due to his duty as president of the school board.
Now it’s Lum’s chance to brag about knowing a rail road president. Good old Bob. Will his boasting hold up when Miss Evaline phones to ask a favor, and get her a ticket for an important trip?
