After a late night, Phil sleeps in. Alice spends time in the morning telling her brother Willie all about his hard work and how stressed he is lately. When he manages to join the conversation, all he can think about is his band. Should he slow down, and live the kind of clean lifestyle that Willie does? At least he agrees to visit a doctor, if only to prove to Alice how good his health is. Phil sings, Pass That Peace Pipe.
To be sure she sends a message to Phil, Alice phones the doctor to put a little scare into him about his health. The medical jokes fly as the physical begins. The medical words make Phil think the doc is using double talk on him. Frankie was also alerted by Alice to make Phil think he needs too slow down, and to make Phil think he’s more sick than he is. Its working so well that Phil thinks he’s going to die. Should Phil walk home in his condition? Julius gives him a lift in his delivery truck. Will he have to worry if Alice will get married again after he’s gone? Back home Alice looks forward to his return and sings, Just One of Those Things.
The girls are worried about their dog, and bad news is expected from the vet. I feel a round of crossed wires coming. Phil overhears Alice talking to the vet, and learns how old and useless he is. there’s just no hope for him. Is it really due to all his running all over town, and never being home? Still, Alice will miss him. Willie has to explain the list of ailments the doc wrote down. Phil can’t believe he is suffering from dandruff, he uses Fitch!
