As listeners know, Sally Carter is expecting a baby, but Jim is worried. The conditions of the rent don’t allow for babies. Will the landlady put them on the street, for not telling her of the baby when they took the apartment? Sally doesn’t have to tell Mrs. Hacket anything. It’s pretty clear there’s a baby on the way.
The landlady is concerned, in her way, over Sally taking care of herself. Still, she doesn’t want tenants complaining over crying babies.
Sally listens to the endless advice from Mrs. Hacket on how to raise a baby, but will she get the old landlady to change her mind about staying? The search for other apartments isn’t turning up much, but Sally is beginning to warm up to the old lady. Has Sally made any progress, or will the Carters be moving soon?
