The gents are all set for a big day for the new stock exchange to open in Pine Ridge. Sales are too slow to suit Abner. Are the shares too high? Since the stock rises and falls at Lum’s whim, he deflates the stock, but is it enough to convince Mose Moots to buy?
When Cedric enters, he learns about the stock brokerage. He’s willing to lay down $20 if the shares drop back down to $10. Lum explains the concept of buying low and selling high. The gents conspire to get a sale out of Mose, while Cedric awaits.
Doing as Lum asked, Abner raised the price, and Cedric doubled his money, no sale from Mose, who closed up shop early. Can the gents weasel out of paying Cedric? Not unless they want his poppa to come over and whomp them one. Could it be time for the first stock crash in Pine Ridge?
