Dennis Day mows the lawn, when Mary Livingstone arrives with a packet of flower seeds. She tells of his failed attempt to raise scalloped potatoes.
Jack’s scriptwriter drops off the next script; If the writers frustrate Jack, why doesn’t he just fire them? When Ronald Coleman’s chickens fly into the garden, will Rochester return all of them? Jack deals with the situation, and Dennis sings, your Voice Calls My Name.
Still trying to figure out his cucumber plants, Jack talks to his boarder, Mr Billingsley who is wearing a turban today. Rochester brings out the Maxwell for a joy ride. Dennis and Mary ride along, and Phil plays some jazzy traveling music
Before the gang can pop into the studio, they visit the drugstore cafeteria. When he sees a misprint on the menu, Dennis demands his rights to have a peanut brittle sandwich. Don finds Jack, and reviews his idea for the commercial. Mary Kelley joins the gang for food related jokes. Phil Harris finally Arrives and orders his special, one Bromo Seltzer. Will the cast get the show started in time?
