After being rescued from the mind cave-in, Lum and Abner recuperate from the affects of hunger and exposure. Dick Huddleston is joined by Grandpap as they take phone calls from well-wishers. Cedric has had to take the day off from school, to get away from his chums who want his autograph.
The gents seem to be waking up a little. Dick and Grandpap talk with Lum and Abner to recount events of their rescue and recovery. They’re ordeal of about a week and a half, seems like at least two or three months for them. Old Blue deserves all the credit in the rescue, and they plan ways to honor the old hound dog.
The big question that everyone wants to know is, why did they go down in that mine in the first place? It has been so long ago, Lum can’t remember.
