Is Lum really feeling so bad that he will suicide himself?

Cédric enters, and may have more pleasant news then Abner has been imagining. But why does Cedric have a gun? And why is he shooting? It may not go well for that little squirrel outdoors, but wonderful world! Lum has returned, and is in high spirits.
