Selected as the outstanding young star of 1941, Red Skelton talks with Truman about his latest date. Red talks about insurance policies, then is joined by Ozzie and Harriot who contribute to the jokes. After the fun,
Ozzie sings with the help of Harriot, Poor Girl.
Red talks with Harriot about his dog, and leads into the things that people do for their pets. Clem Kadiddlehopper goes to the barn to milk the cows. His gal, Daisy Doo comes over, and they talk about taking the cow to the fair. With the cow in the truck, they head down the road. They don’t quite make it through the train track, but manage to handle making hamburgers pretty well.
Junior is on the way to grandmas house. Along the way, Junior finds a cat, that he bribes mom to let him have. In the bus station, Junior is left alone and does some panhandling. Back to his cat, Junior learns from a brief experience that they can’t be ridden like a horse.
Ozzie plays a tune, then Red helps with the commercial.
Out West, Deadeye and his wife have just retired for the night. Deadeye has some trouble getting up when a noise is heard, and complains about Daylight Savings Time. His trusty dog helps him check things out. Wonderful Smith is the rooster with the Dixie accent, who is trying to steal Deadeye’s chickens.
Ozzie plays, Strike Up the Band. Commercial time, and the show comes to a close.
