It’s voting day, and Abner can hardly wait to learn who won. The polls will be closing soon, then the votes will need time to be counted. The gents get a kick out of seeing Cedric all dressed up,, and looking fancy. It’s his first time to get to vote. Abner tells him that most folks just vote in their overalls, and its more important to get out to vote before the polls close.
Cedric wants to look the part, but when asked, he figures he’ll vote for the candidate with the shortest name. It’ll be easier for him to spell. Since both are good out loud talkers, its too bad Cedric can’t vote for both.
Delays begin to pile up as Cedric fusses over his appearance, and worries over proper procedures at the ballot box. Will he ever get out the door, and to the polls before they close? If he misses out, maybe the extra four years will give him the time he needs to decide on who to vote for.
