At the breakfast table, Jim and Bud are engrossed in baseball, and ignore Margret despite her crazy news headlines she makes up to derail their attention. What other topics might be welcomed for a change? A new dress, a motor scooter, or a raffle? Just when Jim is about to force Bud to give up his winning tickets, he learns they are for a father son game. Suddenly morals are tossed aside. What could put a damper on the day? A visit from aunt Martha. The rare visit will demand a get together with all the old buddy duddies in town.
Aunt Martha is unimpressed with Springfield, and disgusted with the way Jim has put on weight. The critical old biddy only has complements for Kathy. Can Jim stage an emergency to give a reason for slipping out to see the game? Will Margret see through their ruse?
After all the trouble, aunt Martha announces she doesn’t want to hang around with all the old fogies. Just get her coat… she’s going… to the ball game…
