Bud has another job for Lou, but after being late again Lou has a few excuses. The job is at Melonhead’s Department Store. Lou explains his qualifications to work with French fashions, and the jokes about clothing begin.
Later, Lou deals with customers. Lou’s girlfriend Lena ghensta gets jealous when she notices Lou talking to other girls. Melonhead gives Lou a refresher course in salesmanship. After a pause, Bud finds Lou in the toy department. The frustrated Melonhead gives Lou one more chance when Verna Felton enters as the guinea pig for Lou’s new found sales skills. Bud is standing by to rake in the big sale, unless Lou can manage to offend Verna and chase her out of the store. My bets are that he will.
With all the world mad at Lou, He still wants to try to repay the evil done to him with good. Using his severance pay, he wants to buy a special gift, but gets confused by the salesgirl’s pitch. Will he manage to find the perfect gift for his aunt?
