Leroy is excited to be able to attend the big football game, much to the embarrassment of his big sister, Marjorie. Gildy agreed to take him, but hopes are dashed when tickets have been sold out. You know he’s really upset when Leroy barely has an apetite for Birdie’s cooking.
Judge Hooker comes calling with Leila Ransom, and Gildy learns about the strings he had to pull to get tickets. Leila is mistaken, and thinks the tickets are for her. Will Gildy man up, and set her straight? Armed with a promise that his uncle will do anything, Leroy lets him off the hook, but the price could be more than Gildy intended.
Heading to the big game, Gildy is decked out like a college boy. Just not like the college boys of 1945, and Marjorie’s date lets him know about it. Will Gildy be able to upgrade his tickets at the last moment?
Might there be a double standard as Gildy snuggles up with Leila, while he gets on to Marjorie for doing the same with her date? Attentions are divided between the game action, and the action in the stands. Meanwhile at home, Leroy and Birdie enjoy the play by play on the radio. Will there be any big plays? Will it rain? Will Leroy let Gildy have it with his reeward for missing the game?
