Homicide Detail. A storekeeper has been found beaten to death in his store room. It’s up to Joe Friday to find his killer.
On the scene, Joe and Ben get filled in from the uniformed cops. The 64 year old man is said to have no enemies. Joe describes the damage to the store room, and the severity of the beating. Its going to be up to the crime lab to find anything more.
Inside the home, Joe talks to Mrs Wilfred, but will she be able to shed any light on a motive for killing her husband? The immagrant woman is aware of her husband’s affairs, and tells the cops all she knows about them.
As the investigation progresses, Joe offers voiceover to report on crime lab findings as well as reports from other sources. Clues narrow down the search, and the trail leads to a laundry service, then to a blonde in a nightclub. Max is another suitor for the showgirl, and things had become heated between the two men. Is there evidence to link Max to the killing? i
Confronting Max, the cops need to figure whether the club owner had the kind of argument that would have lead to murder. The two gents go way back to the old country. Both building up successful businesses. What might it take to crack the man, and get a confession?
