Despite fending off the charges as best as he can, Squire Skimp has an uphill battle in clearing Lum of his legal charges. Today we find him questioning Abner’s poppa, Phinus Peabody on the stand. Will the elderly man only confuse the issue, as he tries to make sense of Squire’s questions?
When Cedric takes the stand, his driving services for Lum could clarify the funds that are aleged to be embezzled. It looks like its going to be up to Squire to muddy the waters of truth again.
To cast further doubt on Cedric, and his testimony, his lack of education is brought up. Despite his simple mind, and inclination to play his bird whistle, the prosecuting attourney manages to get what he’s looking for, and the jury is cut loos to dliberate.
