After eluding the pirate, Escobar, Clark has joined professor Thorpe in the bathosphere, only to have it run out of oxygen. Clark has trouble contacting the Juanita, but as Superman he manages to get through the airlocks, and get out into the sea. What could be the trouble with the air line and speaking tube? Would you believe… a giant octopus?
With the air line restored, Clark goes back inside the bathosphere. Back to the mission at hand, and the professional diver, Gleason swapping places with Clark, boxes full of gold are found. Just when things are looking rosy, bad news comes. Storms are blowing in. Can our heros recover the gold before the seas get rough? The professor gets greedy and goes down for one more haul, the storm kicks into hurricaine levels, and it looks like the bathosphere may be lost.
