Oliver is a Broadway producer, and Cora had hopes of getting an important part. She has been jilted, and a new girlfriend is in line to get the big part. To get what she wants, Cora the naive little country girl, lays out her intent to blackmail Oliver if she is denied the part.
The cops bring what appears to be a suicide to Dr Danfield, but the death just doesn’t seem right. Oliver’s reputation is of an immpecable nature, and the cops want to investigate as discretely as possible. Dr Danfield thinks he can use his tallent at psychology to figure out if the producer is guilty of the killing. Events unfold that could mean danger for Dr Danfield.
Miss Fairfax is upset to hear that Dan has been shot, and fears the worst. Instead, Dr Danfield claims that he can answer the mystery when one question is answered. Though another aledged suicide occurs, it’s only a minor set back in the way for Dr Danfield to expose the secrets behind the mystery.
