Homacide detail. A woman has gone missing, and its up to Joe Friday to find her.
Ruth reports that her twin sister is missing, and could be the victim of foul play. A full statement is made about Bernice, and her husband is interviewed. Ben and Joe think there’s something fishy going on with Mr Butler.
Oddly enough, while on the job, Butler is secretive, but once away from his print shop, he brags about violence, and involvement with organized crime. Are they just fanciful stories about his nagging wife? Bloodstained evidence means more disappearances.
In voiceover, Joe shares the developments. The crime lab is called on to handle the forensic evidence, and a hunt for the missing Butler is made. Is he just a wacko, in need of mental help? Time passes, and Ruth offers herself as bait for a trap.
Is the mob really involved? Joe and Ben pay another visit to the literary minded Butler. Will their trap in his darkened apartment pay off? A last mo ment confession still doesn’t get Joe any closer to finding Bernice. At least not right away. And what about the unstable Mr Butler?
