A story that features Denny. With Bulldog Drummond out of town, his assistant shares how he solved his own mystery. A call sets Denny and Inspector Hogan on the matter of murder. One of a vaudeville trio of sharpshooters is found dead, but Hogan writes it off as a death caused by the man’s diabetes. Thinking otherwise, Denny hires his own assistant from an employment agency to investigate the case.
Its off to the Orpheum theater to interrogate the remaining pair in the vaudeville act. Denny and Hubert try to come up with a motive, and a method for the murder. A search turns up a suspicious bottle. Are they jumping the gun in sharing their findings with the woman in the trio, Miss Cooper?
When bodies pile up, the case takes a surprise turn for Denny. Telegrams from the absent Drummond set him down the correct path to nabe a killer, and expose the truth. Instead he finds himself in mortal danger, but Drummond again comes through from afar.
