Its a beautiful day in the Nelson home. They marvel at the wonders of living in California. David and Harriet try to drop clues for Ozzie to notice the vase on the table. The antique is far from being a beauty in the eyes of Ozzie. Maybe Harriet can convince Ozzie that a room make over will enhance the appearance of the antique. Whose side will Gloria the maid be on?
Later, neighbor girl, Emmy Lou, sets up the jokes for Ozzie as she learns of his troubles. How about an accident where the vase ends up broken? Will the hassle over the vase lead to divorce? Maybe not, but the conversation gives Ozzie an idea to solve his problem.
The second half of the show kicks off with a song, Atchinson Topeka and Santa Fe. In his attempt to keep the vase safely out of sight, and out of mind, Ozzie takes the vase to antique dealer, Hans Conried. Back home, will Ozzie find he has won, in pulling a fast one on his bride? What will happen when he learns that Harriet has bought a matching vase to the one she thinks is out in the garage?
Not realizing yet that its the same vase, Ozzie returns to the shop to offer to buy back the vase that was sold moments after he left. Will Harriet sell the vase back at a premium? Will Ozzie pay it? How will the confusion of the missing vase be resolved? Confession and forgiveness time.
