The old Edwards saying about taking the high road, gets Abner confused. A phone call from Justice of the Peace Lum to the jail house is meant to confirm the eviction went down OK. What made Henry suddenly decide to leave town for ten days?

Abner tells about the homey jail, with laundry strung about, and garden ing going on. Lum sees his chance to deputize Abner, and a lucky break comes when grandpap enters.
