For the last show of the season, Billy Mills plays, Giants.
The McGees are to depart for the Summer, but to pave the way for their replacement, Fibber tries to compose a tune. Meanwhile, Molly is feeling overworked, as she does the packing. Gildersleeve has been doing more helping than he has. Though the insults fly, Gildy still helps in carrying things out. Has Fibber thought of all the bills and services to cut off for the season? Bandy Legs McGee boasts on his musical prowess of his younger days.
As Fibber continues to compose for his replacement, Meredeth Willson, he is visited by Abigail Uppington. She has brought a little going away present. What will the McGee’s do with the set of collapsable finger bowls? Gildy has been hard at work the whole time, packing up the car, then the Old Timer visits. They joke about finance collectors, and repossessed cars.
What will Billy Mills think of Fibber’s composition? He at least introduces Meredith to the McGee’s. Musical puns and jokes fly, and we get to hear Fibber’s hard work. Fibber and Molly comment on Meredeth’s appearance, and we learn that Harlow will also be on the summer replacement show, and for the same sponsor.
Teeny is on hand to offer to help pack. She has a poem to send the McGee’s off on their vacation. The Kingsmen repeat their most requested song of the season, Old MacDonald’s Farm.
Boomer claims to have some World’s Fair tickets, but seems to have everything else in his pockets. Gildersleeve has been simply wonderful in his zeal for getting Fibber packed. What’s his secret that has inspired him?
