Audio is slightly muffled, but in very good shape.
Jim comes home to a houseful of cackling ladies, as they plan the big Father’s Day picnic. The event has turned out to be more popular than anyone anticipated. It seems nearly every lady in town has turned out, with break out sessions in each room of the house, there’s no safe place for a man to relax after a hard day in the office.
The day of free, fun, activities, and food, surprises Jim, when he learns his kids are running fundraisers that are costing him plenty. Well, plenty for 1951 dollars. Relay races, and prizes will be featured. What’s not to like about the affair? The enticement of a side bet, and including Bud as his partner in crime, gets Jim a little more interested in proving himself.
Let the workout routine begin. But why is it only Bud who is doing the exercises? When drama queen Betty enters, jilted by her date, Jim learns that the whole town is in training for the big day. Isn’t it about time to kick it up a notch, and hit the road for some real working out?
By the day of the picnic, Jim is too tired to move, let alone compete in the relay races.
Can Margret motivate Jim to get moving? How about if he puts on a good show for the kids? A radio announcement brings news of a mysterious ailment that has suddenly struck fathers and sons across town. How will it impact the picnic… the Mother and Child day picnic? There could still be good news for Jim.
