As a man named Charlie, Ernest Chapel tells about his nightmare of waking up in a morgue. Is it a dream, or some kind of practical joke that is being played on him? Voices come to him, in his world that has faded to dark. The worker on supernatural radio shows tries to keep a level head. If anybody knows about those phony kind of things, he ought to.
He describes his nightmare through the fades in and out into darkness, and to the cemetary. it’s all just a little too real for comfort. Crossed wires on the phone line fill in details to his demise, and the gun that shot him. Realizations that this might not be a dream begin to slowly sink in. But is Ernest convinced tht this isn’t an elaborate hoax being pulled on him?
Time to go to work, sign contracts, get behind the microphone for voice work, meet and greet the secretary, and the rest of the crew. You know, all the usual stuff.
But who is this new guy? What’s his business? Knowing what he knows, will Ernest be able to change how his nightmare predictted? Well… yes, and no.
