At the dinner table, we seem to hear the Nelson boys for the first time. Discussion includes butter substitutes, growing up, and getting married. With lunchtime over, the boys return to school, and Ozzie promises to help David get a book on reincarnation. What does Gloria, the maid, know on the topic? In the little book nook, all the copies are sold out, so the hunt continues elsewhere.
The henpecked Roger and his overbearing bride share thoughts on reincarnation, and the suggestion to visit the library. Ozzie and Harriet sing, Don’t Sweetheart Me.
In the library, the Nelsons apply for a library card, and softly sing, Ever So Quiet.
Back home, word begins arriving that the book hunt has been paying off. Now he has to decide whether to pick it up from that book nook, or use his library card. Now that his bridges are once again burned, Harriet suggests an upscale boutique in Hollywood. Will he be up sold on seamy murder mysteries, or romances?
Will Ozzie be able to keep his promise to David? The boys may not even be around to read it, but never mind, Ozzie’s friends all manage to be looking out for him.
Note: in the first seasons of the show, the Nelson boys were played by child actors. There’s also mention of that steamy book of sex and scandal of it’s day, Forever Amber.
