As Matt and Kitty enjoy a few casual words, Chester rushes in with an emergency. A pair of settlers are worried that their land has been infested with Indians. Can it be true? Aren’t all the Indians on reservations these days? Matt goes to check on the homestead, and finds the buildings have been burned, and signs that Comanche have been there.
Riding the range to other homesteads, there’s more sign of Indian activity, but Matt begins to doubt the Indian sign, and thinks it’s being planted by white men who are out to stir things up. Still, there has been word of Indians escaping from the reservation. Might they be up to no good?
The secret doesn’t remain quiet for long, and Matt encounters a mild mannered settler who has snapped after the loss of his wife. But the twists aren’t over yet, so don’t miss the events that unfold.
