It’s morning in the Gildersleeve home, and he rushes out with Leroy to try to get their garbage to the curb in time. Gildy learns that the trash has to be sorted because the sanitization department sells the rubbish for animal feed. They also use it to recycle the scrap metal, glass, and paper. Tired of food shortages, Gildy gets the idea to raise a victory garden for vegetables, and raise a pig for bacon. Can they do that in town?
Gildy checks with Floyd the barber to see where he might get a live pig. what does a city boy like Gildy know about pigs? For the sake of comedy, not much at all. The mid show commercial is replaced by a musical interlude, courtesy of AFRS. An instrumental of Together.
Taking the little piggy and going wee, wee, wee, all the way home, a couple days later we find Leroy taking care of the cute little swine. Tiger the pig learns tricks, and comes when he’s called. The pig hasn’t taken to eating the garbage yet, so Peavey stops in with some piggy chow. Will it do the trick? Horace Hooker claims to be an old farm boy, and Peavey shares his experience with livestock.
