Leila is having a big society party, but first the clock is rolled back to the day before. We find Gildersleeve being hounded by his family to support a clothing drive. Once Gildersleeve is sweet talked into giving away his rarely worn tuxedo, wouldn’t you know it? Leila invites him to her formal society party. Can’t Gildy simply choose not to go? Leila suggests that there may be competition for her affections at the party.
Gildersleeve goes to Peavey’s for advice, and to get a few last minute adornments for his tux. Taking Eve Goodwin, Gildy heads out for the big party. Listen in to see how the festivities work out. Will there be a rival for Gildy to worry about? Impressions are to be made as the social posturing goes down.
PS: In the process of deciding what clothes to give away, Gildersleeve is reluctant to part with his suit he wears to church, and he’s going this Sunday.
