Harry and Fred talk about topics including anniversaries, centaurs, and more. It’s Fred’s 30th anniversary in show business, from his first appearance as a juggler on the vaudeville stage. They remember the music, and politics of the day in 1910, and how certain things have made a comeback.
The News of the Week includes topics related to horse racing, and gambling. The audio is edited out past the musical numbers, and makes a brief comeback for the commercial.
Fred welcomes Portland who comments on the packed studio. Fred jokes about Jack Benny’s just released film, and the jokes on Jacks last show. To which, Jack sends a telegram to defend himself. For more fun with Jack Benny jokes, Rochester even pops in to keep things going. Oh, the secrets he reveals. Will Rochester be lured to work for Fred?
Fred has uncle Jim help with some lines that Major Boze read for the East coast show, in tribute of Freds 30th anniversary in show biz. The Merrymacks have their song snipped. The Mighty Allen Art players perform. In the home of Cuthbert Allen, wealthy tycoon. The actors get out of character to give Fred a hard time with scene alterations. PS: Love those moments with Eddie “Rochester” Anderson. As mentioned in the show, Jack and his cast were performing for a time in New York for the big opening of his latest film. The feud between Jack and Fred was of course, fictional. They were friends, but didn’t mind the feud if it got laughs for both of them.
Love the rabbit races with the electronic lettuce…
