As Cedric composes his letter, Abner warns him about sending negative news. The purpose is to keep the morale of the troops up. Not to mention not giving too much away about the failed expedition.
Lum enters, smug that his campaign to let folks believe the expedition was a success. Lum has been asked to give a speech at the lodge on the treasures. His psychology on refusing the s;eech confuses Abner. Will it really make folks think Lum is a busy and important man?
Back to helping Cedric compose his V-mail. Lum’s speech writing intrudes on the letter writing. Crossed messages abound, but it may not go well for Lum.
