The matter of grandpap being upset over his lost beard lingers on. Today, Lum gathers ingredients to make more hair tonic, after seeing how well it grew whiskers on Clarence Bates. Unaware to Lum, it was just a fake beard the boys used for a disguise. Will it at least appease an angry grandpap to have some tonic rubbed on him?
Things are bound to start off in a bad way when the first thing out of grandpap’s mouth is, “Where’s that pigeon toed varmint?” Lum assures him it was his 48 hour formula, and he should give it another day. The fast thinking buys Lum time, but what does it mean when a whole group of youngun’s come down the street sporting long gray beards?
Cedric enters to try and get Lum and Abner to attend the play the scholars are putting on, The gents don’t have time to waste on such things, and draw them away from their studying up on the hair tonic. They don’t have time to see the production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
PS: Where will all this beard mess go? Who knows. There are shows missing and this seems to be the end of the story. Stay tuned to see what the gents cook up later, but with more shows missing, it will take a little imagination to figure how the stories connect.
