When he finds himself with a heavy workload, Judge Hooker asks Gildy to take his new girlfriend on a date to keep her happy. OK, stop. This has been brewing for the past few weeks. This situation with the dance teacher, Miss Del Rey has been a love triangle just waiting to explode into a dangerous situation for Gildersleeve.
Without listening to more than the first scene, here’s my prediction for the outcome. Gildy takes the hot blooded Latin temptress to the night club. The lady, never one to be very keen on the judge, misconstrues it as Gildy as being the real love interest for her. The judge is upset. Gildy is frustrated his favor for his pal is misunderstood, and everybody ends up being mad at each other.
After listening to the show, all I’ll add is that Peavey is his usual unflappable self, Leroy, Marjorie, and Birdie add their typical flavor of humor to the situation as a nice distraction. Then there’s Leila Ransom, who may or may not have a thing for Gildy at this stage of the series, but he manages to make her mad at him too. Oh? And my prediction?
