Swindlers at Mile High Rock run ads in newspapers back east to lure unsuspecting dudes to fall into their trap. Bill and Jingles meet the train to watch the city dudes get off, with all their prospecting gear. Mr Packer is impressed to meet Bill, and tells about his plans to mine on Mile High Rock. Is he the only one with the same ideas? Will there be trouble with claim jumping?
Why all the interest in such a barren piece of land as Mile High Rock? Jingles and Bill ask about it, and are soon on the way to ensure there’s no law breaking going on out there. Gunshots seem to confirm something is wrong. A fist fight with a sneaking lizards who take Jingles by surprise is easy work, and the plot to swindle is exposed. Bill sets up his own plan to lure out a swindler with a telegram back to the mysterious gent who sold Mr Packer his claim.
Biding their time in the Eagle’s Nest hotel, Mr Packer puts the finger on the swindlers, all shady characters who Bill is familiar. Now it’s time to return to the site of the fake mine to confront the bad guys. Gums blaze, and it’ll be up to the courts to return money back to those who were cheated.
