Taking time to buy a new bridal for his horse, Jingles sets the stage for the next adventure. Gunplay over a letter sets Bill on the trail to a friend, and a local rancher. Who wants to do harm to old man Weston? At the ranch, Bill and Jingles are greeted with gunplay, and a girl with a rifle.
Bill finds out what has Rosemarie so riled up. Jingles claims the mystery of the murdered rancher is getting, “Thicker than bears around a honey tree.” What about the letter? It warns of a convict who is being released, and on the trail for revenge. Left in the care of her uncle, Bill and Jingles set out to get a killer.
