To celebrate education week, with the help of Mrs Davis, Connie packs for a trip to a teacher’s convention. As accident prone as Connie is around Mr Conklin, how did he decide to send her to attend? Bad news comes when Walter reports Connie’s traveling companion, Mr Boynton is sick in bed. Who will nurse him back to health? Walter, Harriet, and Miss Enright of course. Sabotaging her trip so she can stay by Mr Boynton’s side, Connie learns too late that Boynton is actually healthy, but how did the crossed wires happen? Miss Enright may have a hand in this.
Though Connie is upset at missing the convention, Boynton doesn’t understand why she wanted to miss it, even if he were sick. Miss Enright joins the lunch table to rub in Connie’s loss. Let the jealous, catty remarks begin. A subtle food fight could put Connie back into position for making that trip.
Despite her best effort at buttering up her boss, Connie is out in regards to the trip, and Conklin nominates himself as the second delegate. Being helpful, and showing his cluelessness, Boynton volunteers to step down, especially since he knows how badly Connie wanted to go. What a lovely weekend. Connie with Mr Conklin, and Boynton being kept busy on a shopping trip with Miss Enright.
