For the moment Lum has put aside the barbering business. We find him busily writing a play. It’s the most important thing he can think of to do to support the upcoming war bond rally. Will they be letting the soldiers down if they don’t go through with it? Grandpap, Mousey, and Cedric are on hand to help Abner with the read through.
Abner is worried that Lum will be promoting his barber shop, but it’s time to practice the dramatic scenes. Will Abner have to worry about scaring wolves and foxes away?
