So far Mousey has been Lum’s only customer to his barber shop. Today we find Lum trying to convince Abner to let him practice on him. What’s so different from shaving yourself? Hasn’t Abner helped enough by talking Mose out of beating Lum up yesterday? Will the barber chair be safe, without falling over when it leans back?
If Lum’s intentions are so pure, why is Abner tied into the chair? Don’t worry about the lather, Lum will take it off right away. How about a nice hot towel while you’re tied down there Abner? Not even threats of the law, or going to the penitentiary will stop the determined Lum.
Abner’s rescue may come when a customer calls to book an appointment. In the meantime, the towel comes off, more lather goes on, but will Lum be able to shave, and spare Abner’s beard? Maybe Lum ought to do some grocery deliveries, and have Mousey or somebody come untie Abner after he’s far away.
