Lum surprised everyone when he refused Abner’s offer to return to partnership. The new business is the talk of the town, and today grandpap and Abner discuss the diamond business. Though Abner would like to get in on the new business, he couldn’t get Lum to go halves with him… Each being partners in the store, and the diamonds.
Even more than ever, Abner regrets splitting partnership with his pal, Lum. Doesn’t Abner have any hold over Lum? He is still working as delivery boy until the diamond business takes off. Grandpap gripes about his chores, but leaves to go see what aunt Charity has studied up for him to do.
Will Lum suspect that Abner has been peeking in his package that came for him in the mail? As Lum looks for office space, and a worker, it’s Abner’s turn to drop subtle hints that he’s Lum’s man. Will the two friends work out a deal to find equilibrium in their working relationship?
