The battle of Muroc county deals with a hostile move of the county seat. The mild mannered Digby is encouraged by his wife, Bessie to take a stand to keep the county seat in Carterville. Is Bill and Jingles too late to prevent rough men from hijacking the records? Bessie Is on hand to tell how her husband set out alone to take the county records back from Dry Lake.
Bill and Jingles go to help, and a fist fight breaks out. Saner minds prevail, and Bill hears the word from Granite, the leader of the other side. The mission now is to find out what happened to Digby, and his red wagon. Why doesn’t Granite want Bill snooping around his livery stables? Besides finding a captive Digby, Bill finds him in need of fighting his way out. Guns blaze, hooves pound, but is it so simple to get the records back to the proper courthouse?
In an ambush and stand off, the real reason the county records were moved is revealed. Tampering with laws on the books stand to expand more land to Granite. No worries. Even though Digby, Bessie, and Jingles have all been disarmed, Bill is waiting to swing into action to save the day.
